The Day Our Lives Changed in the Best Way Possible
So this is kind of a month overdue. I have taken a very blase approach to blogging these days because sometimes, you just need to. Sometimes you do your thing and blog away, and then sometimes you put it on the back burner for a bit and just hang out. I'm just, hanging out.
Anyway, back to more important matters. June 5th, 2013. My sister-in-law finally went into labour! We all arrived at the hospital and waited for the party to really start.
Let's stick a lot of super anxious people into a room together and see what happens. A fun social experiment!
Where all the magic was happening. It's crazy that you could walk around here, and behind those doors, people were pushing out BABIES. It was just weird to think of how normal things were on my side of the door, but meanwhile, their lives were changing in such a dramatic way on the other side. It was pretty surreal.
A birthing suite. Pretty nice, pretty nice. For me anyway. My crotch was it's normal size while I was standing in it.
A soon-to-be aunt in waiting.
Almost a grandpa! I am so grateful that my dad made it to be a grandfather. He has been waiting for this moment his entire life I think.
G-ma! My poor parents had been awake for something like, 20 hours at this point. I felt so terrible for them. I think they were running on pure excitement and coffee.
She's shy. Loser.
Not very shy.
So after what felt like way too long of a time, my brother finally walked in and announced that the baby was a BOY!! Woohoo! We all erupted into cheers and went and got some food. We couldn't see either of them for a little while yet, so we refuelled and went back where I finally met my nephew! Where I fell so in love that it knocked me off my toes.
Thanks you guys, for making me a little baby to spoil for the rest of my life. I love all three of you!
