What's In My Bag: Summer 2014

New season, new bag! I bought this Olivia and Joy bag from Winners at the beginning of the Summer, and I am in love with it! I thought the chains would hurt my shoulders but they don't at all, so, excellent!

A little peek as to what's in my bag.  I don't like a lot of crap floating around in there, and I try to keep it as organized as possible.

Little front pocket perfect for my keys.

Keys and some candies!!

I use a lipstick case to carry my TTC tokens.

The buffer from when I got my nails did in Collingwood with Jessi (post coming soon!)

Eos strawberry lip balm (and a cat hair stuck to it).

Sunglasses and their case.

My other bag inside my bag, my Fossil make-up/ necessities bag.

Maybelline Dream Matte powder, lemon Body Shop hand cream, nail file, tampons, and blotting papers.

The inside pocket contains two sets of headphones, directions to Jessi's house, Ativan for my crazy, keys to Di's house, my expired passport, and two more lip balms.  Oh, and my Plant World key fob thing.

What are the essentials in your bag for the Summer?

Kew Beach

No words needed really...we went to the beach and it was fun times!

The Old Mill Toronto: 2

We decided to check out the lounge and have some wine and cheese as a snack.  Want to know how much I paid for two glasses of wine and some cheese? $60.  Yes. I died a little too.

But it was a nice snack, a nice place to relax, and it was worth it.

Happy birthday Dave!  It still blows my mind that I started going out with this guy when he was 22...just a baby!

I am teaching the room nothing.

I would hate my teacher if she taught like that.

Ah yes, dinner! We lucked out in that the restaurant there was doing Summerlicious!  A three course meal for $35? Yes yes and yes.

Watermelon and spicy crab gazpacho (mine).

Mixed berry salad with baby spinach, frisee (Dave).

BBQ braised beef brisket (Dave).

Blackened Bronsini fish (me, and SOOOO yummy).

Warm fudge brownie tart (Dave).

And for me the French macaron trio, which I cried over they were so good.

And then back to the room to stretch out and relax.

A little more exploring.

And then night nights.

If you ever need an awesome place to stay in Toronto and you don't want to be right downtown, The Old Mill is my suggestion....we loved it!

The Old Mill Toronto

A few weekends ago it was Dave's 32nd birthday, so I decided to surprise him with an overnight stay at The Old Mill Hotel here in Toronto.  We stumbled upon this place a couple of summers ago and had wanted to stay there ever since.  For that magical blog post, click here.

We first went out for breakfast at our favourite spot...that's right, Cool Hand.  Where else? I should be paid by them the amount that I mention them haha.  Paid in food.  Because they are that delicious.

After breakfast, a quick trip home to wait for our car reservation, and then off to the hotel!

It was a perfect summer day.

And the hotel was everything we could have asked for.  It was pretty perfect actually.

There was soft jazz playing throughout the entire room, even in the bathroom!  Which was luxurious.

Oh hey hey!

There was already ice in the bucket, and our bed was turned down when we came back from dinner.

The hotel is situated in such a spot that you would never know you were in Toronto.

Getting ready to explore!

After Dave fiddles and finds the classical music station.

It was like a slice of heaven.

Stay tuned for part 2! Where we explore the inside and we also eat! How riveting!
