Throwup Thursday

I can't believe it's almost June! When did this happen? I mean, I know when it did, but it feels like a few weeks ago was Christmas.  Time really does fly.

I am sitting here listening to Dave compose his first symphony (which is pretty freaking awesome), sweaty and cooling down from a run.  The weather is pretty gorgeous out there, despite my allergies, and I really have nothing to complain about.

Well, except maybe this:

I took this at work this morning, while I was working away in this room. What a terrible view. For real.

The job is going well.  There are a few things that I'm like hmmmmmmm about, but it's like that in every job.  They are a means to an end right? And my end result is to get as much wandering time in as possible on the weekends.

Yeah like that.

What are you folks looking forward to this summer?

Music For Those Who Listen

This past weekend my sister and I spent some time at our parents house in London. It had been too long.  This was taken while I was waiting for my sister to grab her stuff from her apartment.

Clouds for Indigo.  Check out his blog, and his book!

I spent Saturday night drinking way too much of this slushy margarita deliciousness that my parents brought back from the States.  God it was good. And very strong.  Which was perfect!

As soon as we got there I got into my comfies.  Because well, good family, good food and comfy cozies go together like nothing else.

Cuddling with the pups.

And of course I got to play with my little guy on Sunday. Which is always the best! He melts my heart in a gazillion different ways.

We take playing seriously in our family.

On the holiday Monday, Dave and I decided to go on a walking adventure through High Park (again) but then we ended up on Lakeshore, which we had surprisingly never done before.

It was the perfect day for discovering a new spot.

This guy was just balancing rocks on one another (Inukshuks?), and they were everywhere.

A much needed rest.

In bloom.

Nature is not in fact, a whore.

Dave loves these red-winged blackbirds.  I like them too.  But, they are so loud, the little shriekers.  I remember when my best friend and I used to camp in my backyard when we were around 11 or 12 years old and these birds would wake us up at 6 in the morning. I would be so pissed that I would run around like the Hulk and shake the trees to try and get them to shut up.

Another wonderful weekend! Family and new adventures are always welcome in my life. Plus, we walked 14km on Monday, which is great.  I have put on a few (15) pounds since the winter started and its time to lose that shit again.  Healthy eating and lots of running in the imminent future!

The Good Life

Life has been pretty busy as of late.  But this is good.  It's not good to be stuck on the internet all the time when you should be out enjoying life.  Even the little things.

Like this little one here.

We have been letting our cats on the deck lately.  Especially this one. We aren't really sure how much time she has left, so we are letting her do more things we didn't before: go outside...eat crappy food....

Friday selfies at work.  Happiness abounds.

#TBT!

Went for my first run since last October.  I died a little but I pushed through it.

Put in an order with maintenance to switch my office around. They finally did it! And I love it the way it is now.  Before my back was to the door, now I am facing the door.  I plan to put a big plant in front of that awkward little part in front of the back of the desk.  And some art on the walls.

My perspective.  That terrible picture is gone thank goodness.

We have been going on plenty of dates/ adventures lately. The weather has been gorgeous.  Gorgeous enough for caramel frappuccinos at Starbucks

Discovered a new Thai place called Silk.  So effing good. I don't normally drink 'girly' drinks but their caramel apple martinis are out of this world!

Yup.

On Mother's Day we decided to take a walk through High Park to see if the cherry blossoms were blooming.

The leaves are all in now, one week later.  Everything just exploded in the past week.

Canada!

The cherry blossoms were just starting to bloom on this day.  So we didn't get to see them in all their glory, but they were still beautiful.  It's a huge thing every year for people to go see them.

On the way home I scored a bunch of free books! Best present ever!

On the same day, my sister and I decided to go to Kensington to walk around for the rest of the afternoon.  We went to the Blue Banana, one of my favourite places in Kensington!

Well, except for their creepy mannequins.

We bought delicious salt water taffy, and some sharp cheese and a hunk of bread and just walked around, and then eventually sat in the ghetto park and ate our bread and cheese.  We just needed some wine and it would have been perfect.

All in all though, life has been good! Enjoying everything that it has to offer lately, and brushing off the not so good.  Because things can always be worse, and life is a gift.  I hope you are all having a fabulous Monday! Post coming soon of what I did today!
